Finally, Samsung Galaxy AT&T SGH-I777 is getting upgraded to android OS JellyBean 4.1.2. I received sms message today from AT&T saying your android phone has an update to JellyBean. Unfortunately, It is not OTA (Over the Air) update. You need to connect your android phone to computer and use Samsung Kies software to upgrade to newer android OS.
JellyBean 4.12 offers new features including customizable widgets, Google Now, Improved muti tasking etc. You can upgrade AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 from ICS 4.0.4 to JellyBean 4.1.2 easily. One of the major issues with 4.0.4 update was S2 phone shuts off automatically while it’s idle. This version hopefully will fix it.
How to upgrade AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 to JellyBean 4.12 from ICS 4.0.4
1. Download & Install Samsung Kies software on your Windows computer or Mac. If you already installed it, upgrade to newer version of Samsung Kies software.
2. Before upgrading your android phone to JellyBean, It is better to make a backup your existing photos, videos, contacts, sms etc using Samsung Kies software. Connect your phone to computer via USB cable. Wait for Samsung Kies to recognize your phone. Go to Backup & Restore tab > Check the items you want to backup and create backup. Also make sure, your android phone more than 50% battery charging left and USB cable firmly connected to phone and computer.
3. Click on the upgrade firmware button to start upgrading your android phone to android OS JellyBean 4.1.2. It will take 15 to 20 mins to update android phone with Jelly Bean. Your phone will reboot and all your apps will be optimized to run on the newer OS. Just make not to disconnect your phone while it’s upgrading.
Thats it. Enjoy JellyBean android OS on your android phone.
