GeoLocation, Tweets protection and Retweet button new features on Twitter

GeoLocation

Much awaited Geolocation features in now available on Twitter. Repeated requests from users and application developers, in August, Twitter said that it will be adding Geolocation feature to its API. Twitter has announced that it has introduced this feature to its API in its official blog post. Now you can expect most of the third-party Twitter application will release new versions with this update.

To enable this feature in your account visit settings page of your account and check the check box under your location information. Enabling this option will tag your location information with your tweets to let other know about your location. You can also see a delete all location data under this option for deleting all your historical tracks from your tweets.

Tweets protection (Privacy policy)

Twitter has also introduced another option to protect your privacy. Scroll down in the settings page to find an option called Protect my tweets. Checking this option will make your tweets only available to users who you granted access to follow. Checking this box will not affect your previous tweets in any way. And you tweets will not be posted in the public timeline anymore.

Retweet Button

And also new Retweet button is worth giving some explanation. Now you can see that the retweet button in Twitter is changed. When you click on this button you will be asked whether you want to retweet it to your followers. Click on the yes button to retweet and share the same with your followers and also update your status.

Hope that Twitter adds many new exiting features to its API in feature to make Twitter wonderland among all social networking sites. As per now these are the new features that are worth checking in your account. Use geolocation and privacy policy options wisely to not to get in trouble by giving out your location information.
