I don’t have unlimited mobile data plan. I use WiFi for browsing or streaming videos most of the time. If I am outside, I turn on mobile data option to surf internet. It is hard to go into settings and turn on or off Mobile Data or Cellular Data.
Unlimited data plans are not cheap. If you have limited mobile data plan like 200MB or 2GB, You may want to turn off the mobile data all time except when you want to use it. Using android apps, You can create shortcuts for turning on/off Mobile Data just like your WiFi. You don’t need to go through Settings > More Wireless Settings > Mobile Networks > Mobile Data to turn on data access over mobile network.
How to turn on/off Mobile/Cellular Data option easily on any android phone like Galaxy S3, S4 etc
1. There are lot of android apps available out there to do this. But I like Power Toggles android app. It is free. You can download it from Google Play Store.
2. You can have shortcuts to turn on or off about 40 things including GPRS Mobile Data, Flash Light, Hotspot, Tethering etc. You can also create custom short cuts to system settings or apps.
3. You can have these shortcut options on Home Screen using Widget or On Notification Screen or even a folder.
This android app works on most android apps including Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy S3, Galaxy S2, Note 2, Note 3, HTC One, Sony Xperia Z, LG G2, Nexus 4 etc.
