There are number of people who have updated their computers from Windows XP to Windows Vista. Windows Vista is not only packed with many cool features but also told to start up faster than Windows XP. But most of the people may find that Windows Vista is starting much slower, there are various factors effecting Vista start up time. The most common issues are discussed here and tips to make your Windows Vista computer boot up faster.
Start Up Programs
Like in any earlier versions of Windows operating system Vista also loads a bunch of programs during start up process. Removing any unwanted programs from the start up list will considerably reduce boot up time. There are various methods to remove unwanted startup programs from the start up list.
Click on the Start button –> All Programs –> Startup, under this start up you can see many items which launch during your computer startup. Right click on any of the item in the list that you want to remove and click delete from the menu.
There are still many other hidden programs that do not show in the startup list but load behind. To remove these programs you need to do some advance thing. For this type MSCONFIG in the command line and press enter. System Configuration window appear in this go to the startup tab, you can see all the programs that load in the background. Uncheck the programs that you know and which you do not want to load during startup.
Disk Defragmentation
Disk Defragmentation is always good in any version of Windows OS. Defragment will attempt you to put all the files on the hard disk into contiguous sectors. This makes the computer to load files faster during the boot process. The command line method is good to use for the defragmentation of Windo
