Even otherwise, it is very much likely that you will be using the Reader to keep yourself posted and updated about certain some topics and staff. Now, Google Reader has certain goodies that you won’t find in all the other feed readers. Here are the top 5 ways to use the Google Reader more smartly.

1. Manage Subscriptions: This is handy when you are following a lot of stuff through the reader. To manage the subscriptions. Open Google Reader, click on the Expandable link on Subscriptions tab and find the “Manage Subscriptions” link at the bottom. Click on that link to find you subscription list and sort these through renaming and putting them in different folders.

2. Import/Export: If you want to import your staff from an erstwhile feed reader check the following staff. Go to Subscriptions-Manage Subscriptions-Import/Expost. Once you are here, browse those files from your previous feed reader in OPML format and then just upload.
