How to sync iTunes music/photos/videos with Windows Phone 8 like Lumia, HTC 8X

You got a new Window Phone 8 like Nokia Lumia or HTC Windows Phone 8x etc. You may want to sync or transfer your media like music, photos, videos from your computer to new windows phone. You may want to transfer iTunes playlists, Windows libraries to your new phone.

You can always transfer media manually from your computer to phone using the USB cable that came with your Windows Phone 8. But if you want to sync playlists or libraries and other media, You need Windows Phone app for desktop.

How to sync iTunes music, photos, videos to Windows Phone 8
1. If your media like iTunes music playlists, photos, videos are on Windows laptop or PC, You will need to download & install Windows Phone app for Desktop on your computer. You will need Windows 7 or Windows 8 computer. You will also need Microsoft .NET Framework 4 If you don’t have it.

Note: This is a beta app. This might not be available in your region.

If your media is on Mac, You will need to download & install Windows Phone App for Mac. (Click on the download link on this page)

2. Open the installed Windows Phone app on your computer and connect your Windows Phone 8 like Lumia or HTC 8X to your computer. If your Windows Phone 8 is not recognized, You may want to try restarting your phone.

3. You can select iTunes playlists or iTunes music, Windows Libraries, Photos, Videos and click the Sync button. Your Windows Phone 8 should sync automatically whenever you connect your phone to computer.

I could not add any screenshots here as I don’t have Windows Phone 8 yet.

If you have Windows Vista or Windows XP, you need to manually copy the files or mp3 songs to your Window Phone 8 using Windows Explorer. For Mac, this is same as Window Phone 7 connector.

If you have Window RT tablet like Surface, Asus ViVoTab etc, You can use Windows Phone App to copy photos, videos automatically.
