Nikon Corporation has announced new Nikon D5000 adding to the DSLR series cameras. It features 12.3 Megapixels that offers super picture quality even when the picture is enlarged and the main highlight in this camera is the Vari-angle LCD display that rotates about 450 degrees allowing live view shoot virtually in any angle. This is the best camera for the people who are looking for an upgrade and to the people in the entry level looking. With 19 Auto exposure scene modes, continuous shooting and D-movie mode it brings out the real professional within you.

The Vari angle display rotates to about 450 degrees gives you the freedom of shooting pictures in live view mode. The display swings down to about 90 degrees and rotates on its axis to about 360 degrees when you are not using the display it can be tucked safe against the camera back to protect it. The display is of about 2.7-inch LDC with up to 230K pixels gives you a comfortable view even in the bright-lit areas. D5000 features 12.3 megapixels that gives you high-resolution images allowing you to print large images without losing any quality. Nikon has introduced its specially modified EXPEED image processing technology that provides extreme processing speed for processing the images for colors, resolution, tonal scale and other image functions like face recognition, scene recognition and many more.
In the Live View Shooting Mode, the D5000 automatically detects the scene, up to five faces in the frame and the subject tracking functions gives you sharp clear images. When you are using the camera for handheld shooting, the wide area AF feature offers blur free images even in unsteady conditions. If are using a tripod you can use the Normal AF for focusing particularly on a point to get a great shoot. The D-movie feature makes shooting motion pictures easy you get excellent image quality and flexibility using this feature. This camera can shoot up to 24 frames per second, which gives HD quality videos. If you like to share the video on the internet then you can shoot motion pictures in low resolutions like 640 x 424 or 320 x 216 combined with the NIKKOR lenses gives you high quality videos ensuring that you capture every detail of the movement.

Select the Scene mode for easy shooting in this mode the camera automatically detects the scene and adjusts the settings like brightness, white balance, exposure and other settings to give you perfect pictures every time. All you have to do is just position the camera and click and the rest will be done by the camera itself. The face detection system automatically detects up to five faces in the frame, then focuses on the nearer face for an ultra sharp image, and detects smile on the faces so you do not miss the smile of your subject. The D-lighting feature processes the image and restores any image loss due to shadows high background light etc., giving you as natural looking images as possible.
The external design of the D5000 is well built and it is larger than other DSLR models from Nikon, which is great for people with large hands and due to the larger size it allows more stable grip on the camera when shooting by free hands. The user interface of the camera is easy and all the controls are easily accessible there are more controls on D5000 then other DSLR cameras meaning more features can be selected with the push of one button. Even a new user can understand the user interface very easily it is also equipped with a viewfinder if you choose not to use the display for shooting. With the optional GPS unit geo tagging of the photos is possible it automatically records the altitude, longitude and latitude of the location and attaches it to the EXIF data of the image. It comes with a built-in flash that allows you to shoot even in the dark areas the flash supports up to 17 feet so you can take clear pictures of the objects that are up to 17 feet distance from you. Overall, the D5000 is a brilliant camera and fulfils the need of a good camera for both professional and armature photographers.
