Manage Comments of WordPress Blog from Windows Live Writer

23 Oct 2009Windows Live Writer is a multi-platform blogging tool and easy to use Windows Desktop application. Using this tool you can manage most of WordPress dashboard controls from your desktop. Windows Live Writer team has released new plug-in which enables you to manage/moderate WordPress comments from live writer. This is one another reason why you would like to use Windows Live Writer as your blog tool.
It is very easy to install this plug-in to Live Writer just download the WordPressplugin.dll file of the plug-in and copy the same to Windows Live Writer plugins folder (c:\program files\windows Live\writer\plugins). Restart the application to start using newly installed plug-in.
Now you can see Comment Management link in the application dashboard. Click on the link to start comment management from inside Windows Live Writer. You can see all new comments on your blog such that you can approve, mark as spam or delete comments at your will.
When you click on new tab in the comment management for WordPress windows you can see all the new comments arrived to your WordPress blog. Although you cannot edit comments from this application but can take necessary action for comment management. At the top you can also see two other tabs named approved and spam to view related comments in that tab.
With the comment management plug-in Windows Live Writer team also released two other plugins. One for changing title and tag line of your blog and the other to insert custom field. All these plugins have brought Windows Live Writer close to WordPress blog owners and webmasters.
