How to Post to Twitter from Google Wave

google-wave-twitter1The Google Wave is making quite a splash out there. The wave, a combination of email, chat and wiki is generating enough interest even in its beta avatar.  So it would be mighty nice if you could Tweet from the wave.

Well, you can and it’s pretty simple, but does come with a bit of a problem. The wave does not update the Tweets as they and when they pour in on the fly. It does not remind you about the 140 character Tweet string limit either.

However, something is better than nothing and till a super smart, ultra snazzy Twitter client appears (and the Wave itself gathers some further momentum), this is probably the only way around to add the Tweet ripples to your wave.

Step 1: Open Google Wave , go to Manage contacts and add tweety-wave@addspot.com as a new contact.

Step 2: Create a new wave and add another waver. This will lead to an authentication message screen.

Step3: A new screen will appear, prompting you to log in with your Twitter account.

Step 4: Click the “Done” button in the wave.

Step 5: Push your Tweet upto the first box so that you can see others’ Tweets.

A bit of a looping way around no doubt. But as mentioned earlier, this is the only possible way to do this as of now. Feel free to let us know if you come across some other, easier way to Tweet from the Wave.

Warning: It may not work with your account at all. Since the wave is in a beta state, sometimes it is playing tricks.
