If you might carry a host of media files on your iPod, iPod nano, iPod touch and iPhone, well it is absolutely natural that you will have a huge collection of music, video and photographic contents if you happen to own any of these snazzy Apple devices. All is good and fine with that, except that one fact that keeps you a little bit on the edge at times is the possibility of losing all those great collections.
The easiest way to sleep sound is to trust apple. Grab a CD or DVD, go to iTunes and choose File-Library-Back up to Disc which will take you to the following screen.

Select your option here –i.e. either back up the entire iTunes library or only iTunes purchase or last updates. Now enter a blank disc in your disc drive to let iTunes scan it and burn you media to it. However, you cannot play these files from the disc as iTunes only restores them there. To play these you will, alas, need iTunes again.
So that’s it. Your media collection is safe, but un-play-able unless you choose the (autocratic) iTunes as your player!
