How to Fix a Frozen iPod

ipod_modelsDoes your iPod frozen and showing a blank screen? Do not panic there is a quick way to fix your iPod to normal state. In just under a minute you should be able to fix your device and continue music again. Follow these simple steps to quickly fix your frozen iPod.

1. First toggle hold switch, slide it to hold and slide it to off position.

2. Press the following combination of buttons simultaneously until you see apple logo or for about 10-15 seconds.

  • iPod 4G and higher - Menu + Select (middle button inside the wheel)
  • iPod 1G - 3G - Menu + Play/Pause
  • iPod Shuffle - Just turn it off and back on, you are done.

3. Repeat the second step once again if you are not successful at the first attempt.

4. Your iPod battery might have run out of charge. Try charging the battery by connecting it to the computer or by using Apple USB power adapter.

If the above quick troubleshoot doesn’t work, do a complete restore on your iPod. For this you need to connect iPod to the computer with iTunes installed. Backup any music from your iPod to the computer if you need and proceed to do complete restore.

Connect iPod to the computer and wait for iTunes to recognize your device. Right click on the iPod icon in iTunes and select restore option from the menu. Now follow onscreen instructions to successfully complete restoration process.
