How to Add Twitter in Pidgin

using-twitter-from-pidginThe multi-platform and multi-protocol supporting Pidgin chat client makes your life infinitely easy in the world of IMs and chats. It saves a of time, helps you to streamlines your chat and IM accounts and saves a lot of system energy.

However, Pidgin’s supported list of services does not include Twitter . But as with most of the things in the world od web 2.0, there is a way around. Therefore, there  is also the option to add tweets, along with the chats and IMs (Google, AiM, Yahoo and others) to your Pidgin. This works on both Windows and Linux.

Step 1: Download the microblog-purple plugin. Choose you package. For Windows, download the .exe file, for Linux deb or rpm package and install from the Linux terminal.

Step 2: Start Pidgin, go to Accounts- Manage accounts, your Twitter credentials there and save it.

That’s it. Now, along with chatting, your Pidgin client is also ready for some tweeting.
