If you receive a MMS message like picture message or contact on your android Phone like Galaxy S2/S3 etc, You may see the SMS message as downloading. If you click on it also, It does not download the message.
You may see the MMS message as below. Message size: 1KB, Expires Date, Downloading. It says downloading but It does not download the actual message.
This normally happens If you don’t have 3G/4G data connection turned on your android phone. You can send and receive SMS messages but not MMS messages without Mobile Data turned on.
Go to Settings > Mobile Networks > Turn on “Use Packet data” to turn on 3G/4G data. After this also you will still see the message as downloading.
How to force download MMS messages after It stuck downloading
After turning on Mobile Data, You need to redownload MMS message to view the picture, video or contact etc. You can do this by turning off Auto retrieving mms messages.
Go to Messages > Settings > Turn off Auto Retrieve MMS messages. If you go back to the MMS message now, You will se Download button. Tap on download to redownload mms message on your android phone.
Thats it. You may want to reenable auto retrieve If you want to get MMS messages automatically. This should work on all android phones including Samsung Galaxy S, S2, S3, Galaxy Note 2, Nexus 4, Driod Razr, Xperia and also all networks like AT&T, Verizon, TMobile etc.
