If you are a big fan of Facebook-ing, two things that might have often bugged you are its slightly sluggish nature in terms of speed and the vast and weird lot of apps. Now that can be handled pretty smoothly with the new (still in trial) version of Facebook -the Facebook Lite.
Facebook Lite cuts down the original, slightly top heavy Facebook design considerably. It reorganizes the content on the individual account pages. It reorganizes all the tabs, “Home”, “Profile”, “Chat”, “Invitation” etc, organizes the sub tabs under them in a much sleeker fashion and gets rid of some of the clutters (like “News Feeds”, well, may be).
It also lets you control the Twitter like update streams from all the users. And as said earlier, gets rid of the weirdest list of apps in the planet (after App Store that is). Also, it’s a lot faster and simpler to use. If you are not a dedicated Facebook er, you might jolly well prefer this version.

Just on second thoughts, it seems like a bi-directional movement is taking place among the social networking giants. While the new Orkut is more Facebook-ish than ever, this Facebook Lite is much more akin to the Orkut (new or old).
