How to extend battery life of Kindle Fire HD/2

I have Kindle Fire HD. I like it. I noticed it discharges battery quickly sometimes. Kindle Fire HD should provide about 11 hours reading, watch videos, listening to music as per Amazon. If your Kindle Fire is not holding battery, How can you extend battery?

I noticed Kindle Fire HD drains battery more quickly If I don’t charge it fully. It takes more than 4 hours if you use Power adapter that came with it and 13.5 hours to charge it fully If you connect to computer using micro USB cable.

1. Charge your Kindle Fire Fully

2. WiFi Issues
If your wifi is having connectivity issues, Kindle tries to connect to it always. This will discharge the battery fairly quickly. You may want to turn off WiFi sometimes when you don’t use it. If you are using Bluetooth, turn it off.

3. Reduce Screen Brightness
It seem default screen brightness is little brighter. You can reduce brightness by swiping down from top & tap Brightness. You may also want to turn off Automatic Brightness If it is turned on.

4. Don’t use Kindle Speakers often
If you use your Kindle speakers always, They may drain battery quickly. Kindle uses dolby audio stereo speakers. Try to use headphones if you don’t need to use speakers.

5. Too Many running apps
If you open lot of apps frequently, they might be running in the background and causing battery to drain quickly. You can kill running apps using Advanced Task Killer.
