You got new Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet. With S Pen, You can have all the fun you want. If you want to view your photos, videos on the big screen HD Tv, You have couple of options to connect it TV including allshare cast.

You can connect Galaxy Note 8.0 to HD TV using a MHL cable or wirelessly via AlShare Cast dongle or DLNA. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages.

1. Connect Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 to HDTV via MHL HDMI adapter
If your HDTV has HDMI port, You need MHL adapter to connect Note 8.0 tablet to TV. You can buy MHL HDMI adapters from Amazon for about $15. You will also need a HDMI cable.

If you use MHL adapter, Your tablet needs to be connected to TV via MHL adapter cable always. You can’t move easily with the cable connected to TV. But You will get screen mirroring on the TV. Video playback will be good as there won’t be any lag. It is a cheap option as MHL adapter costs less.

2. Connect Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 to HDTV via Miracast Wireless Display Adapter
Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 has Jelly Bean 4.1 OS so Miracast is not built-in but You can use AllShare Cast to stream videos, photos to TV using Miracast adapter.

3. Connect Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 to HDTV via DLNA & Airplay
If you have a DLNA TV like Samsung Smart TV, Blu-ray players, Google TV etc, You can connect Note 8.0 to TV using DLNA.

a. Make sure Note 8.0, DLNA TV are connected to the same WiFi network.

b. Open the video or photo you want to display on the TV, You will see AllShare Play icon on the screen. Tap on the icon to select the DLNA TV. Your video should play on the TV now.

4. Connect Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 to HDTV via AllShare Cast dongle
a. Buy Samsung AllShare Cast dongle on Amazon for about $70. You will connect this wireless adapter to TV using HDMI cable.

b. On your Galaxy Note 8.0, Go to Settings > More Settings > AllShare Cast > Turn it on. It will find the AllShare Cast dongle. You can connect to it.

c. You can play videos, photos, music to TV now. Your Note 8.0 screen mirrors on to the TV also.

Now you know more than couple of ways to connect android tablet to TV. If you have any existing media player like Xbox, PS3, Apple TV etc, You can easily above android apps to test it for free. Miracast is the way to go If you want real wireless screen mirroring on to TV.

  1. I am unable to connect Note 8 to TV using the MHL to HDMI cable. Actually when I connecting it, no input message is displaying on the TV. Please help what to do
